Sewer Backup Repair FAQs — Kirkwood, CA

Who is responsible for a sewer backup in Kirkwood?

In most California cities the homeowner owns the lateral line from the house to the city connection. We can help you find where the blockage is so you know who is responsible.

Should I keep using water during a sewer backup?

No. Stop running water, flushing toilets and using the washer or dishwasher until the line is cleared.

What causes sewer backups?

Tree roots, grease buildup, wipes and paper products, sagging (bellied) pipe and broken clay or cast iron pipe are the most common causes.

Can you stop it from happening again?

Hydro jetting removes roots and grease far better than snaking alone, and a camera inspection tells us if a repair is needed.
